My daughter had mice getting into her 1999 ext cab ranger and I cannot locate the entrance point. There are absolutely no holes in the cab anywhere. They must be coming into the heater/air cond box thru the intake.
SOURCE: Where is the blower motor resistor for my 1999 ranger located?
For a photo reference a repair manual like Haynes or Chilton you can get them at your local parts store, also check your local library they usually have a lot of manuals for vehicle repair.....Your resistor is located in the bottom of environmental station under dash, will be held in with two screws and have one electrical plug going to it, let me know how it goes, hope this helps

find larger ac line/hose and follow it untill u come to a small ac service port
SOURCE: no heat in cab in ford ranger 2005 tied heater
check if both heater hoses going into firewall are hot.. if only one is hot then your heater core is stopped up..you can take both lines loose and take a water hose and back flush,,, force hose on one inlet of heater core for a minute and then the other.. keep going to you get a good flow...make sure heater valve is open, not just valve position take loose and confirm clear..last make sure your thermostat is not stuck open keeping engine from comming up to temperature
SOURCE: heater blows cold air. I have replaced thermostat,
Not an expert by any means, but i know my ranger.. I had a small leak at the top of my radiator that still cooled the engine but didnt have enough pressure to get to the heater. The heater hoses travel up over the engine and just were not gettin anything to my heater core. That or make sure the heater control valve is operating.

the thermostat is in the thermostat housing. that is the end part of the upper radiator hose, where it connects to the engine. assuming the car is otherwise running OK it is not your problem, replacing it is a waste of your time. most likely the heater core is shot, that is where you should be looking. it sits within the heater box which is most likely behind the dash under the glove box, over the passenger footwell.

We have been trapping and relocating. Daughter is not going to let me poison although I do in my shop caus I'm tired of them in my tool boxes. I think I need to get some 1/4" hardware cloth over the inlet somehow. They came in cause she keeps peanuts in the truck for her pup. He loves them - so do mice
