Get a plug and play kit. They are usually available from your local parts store. This will save a lot of time and make the install much easier for about $30 us.

I want to tap into the reverse tail light wiring for a surge brake solenioid,

We at not living in the 1960's

You tap into any of today's vehicle circuits, your
asking for unknown problems

Have you considered you said a solenoid,& do you
know the current draw on that solenoid

Best design a new circuit using a relay & control it with
the back up switch ,if the can handle the extra current

Need wiring diagrams, some math & ohm's law there

On a chevy traverse i cant get the windows to work. i cant get key out of ignition, and right rear blinker doesnt work

Fuse under the right passenger dash. Fifth up on the right (blue 15 amp). It is called BCK/UP/STOP. All the same symptoms short in wiring harness for the trailer package caused the windows not to function, the right rear turn signal had no power, and the key was stuck in the ignition.

How do you wire trailer lights and break lights on a horse trailer for a 2010 Ford F150

These diagrams should help to assist you, and a test light should be used to verify each wire from the vehicle wiring harness. The vehicle should have a stock wire connector for installing a trailer wire connector like the one that is in the image and the link below and it will not require tapping into the vehicle wiring harness. Let me know if you require any further assistance.

you must check the connection where the truck harness meets the added trailer harness on the truck itself not the trailer harness.

2009 cargo van chevy 2500-- cant find fuse for left directionals

first never plug back in to that trailer, it may have bad wiring, the next thing to do is to check the front and rear bulbs, they may have blown,if it was a fuse the signal inside would not blink,so this tells me you may have blown the bulbs, and also this trailer is unhooked from the van and lights still dont work?. good luck.

Have a 2005 chevy colorado, i installed a four way harness exactly how the directions say, but when i connect the trailor only the right and left turn signal and taillights work. No break lights.

On the truck, are the turn signals and the brake lights using the same bulb, if the brake lights are using a different bulb the trailer might not work withe the truck if it only has a 4 wire plug, might have to add brake lights to the trailer and use a 5 wire plug, yes this means rewiring the trailer and adding lights
