Hello Poca Buchanan,
WRONG.
Your "rental" FOLKs do NOT know of what they speak.
Your owners manual... Pages
192 & 246 both confirm... that your vehicle can be towed... and the
SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES.
Drive wheels can only be towed in EMERGENCIES...
NOT to exceed 35 miles per hour...
Not to exceed 50 miles...!!
~~
If the drive wheels are off the ground... REGULAR TOWING PRECAUTIONS SHOULD APPLY.
(lets say a rear wheel drive... if the REAR WHEELS are on a carrier... you should be all PEACHES (reverse tow)).
If you cannot limit your distance or speed... and drive wheels are
ON-THE GROUND...
Your DRIVE SHAFTS should be
removed to protect the transfer case and/or transmission (by an
AUTHORIZED FORD TECHNICIAN).
If you require assistance or clarification on Ford Motor Company policies or procedures, please contact the Ford Customer Relationship
Center at 1-800-392-3673 (FORD)
Hope this helps!!
