the only problem that vehicle has is with cooling fans is relay/module or electrical harness to module that burns up located behind and under right front headlamp assy must remove headlamp to access relay/module that is what powers up fan motor module assy.

Your Jeep is Burning Oil. Do you need a Quart every Now and Then? The only way to fix this is to get the Piston Rings Replaced and is not Cheap. There are a Few Additives on the Market that you can put in the Motor to Minimise the Problem for a While. You need to go to Your Auto Parts Store and see what is available in your Area on these though. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

replace throttle body gasket. first check to see if carbon has built up around the throttle valves in throttle body if so remove and clean it with throttle body cleaner.and a old tooth brush. besure to remove all electrical components or any thing that plastic or rubber the cleaner will destroy it.

You can check fluid level by removing the rubber plug in the cover. Fluid is full when on level ground, it is just at the edge of the hole (or very close) if you are already getting noises out of there, you can remove the cover and inspect gears for wear or breakage. If you find a large amount of metal debris in the lube it tells you something bad is going on back there. Although rebuildable, it's not a home job...requires exact settings in order to operate properly. You can find good units far cheaper than even a gearset costs in any scrapyard. to match ratio, count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear. the replacement MUST have the exact same number. Before swapping diffs, check all back there to make sure noise is not from somewhere else.

Rpms runnning over 2000 jeep cherokee laredo 1997

Maybe the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) if the computer thinks it is all the way to the floor then the gears would not shift until the engine RPM is real high. Also would not be able to determine the car is supposed to be idling. Do you have a check engine light? If you do this may come up on a scanner.

My 1993 jeep grand cherokee laredo idles rough after warm up. it also idels high around 2000 rpm at start up sometimes and needs to be shut off and restarted to calm idle speed. whats is causing the...

usually rough Idle is not noticable at high ildle. Once it is idles normally try Disconnecting one injector at a time. If the idle stays the same than that cylinder is the culprit. Remove that spark. If it is wet than do a compression test. Should read better than 100lbs of compression. If compression is good take a spark plug and hook it into the end of the plug wire.Lay it across the intake, start the car and watch for spark. If you have spark than you probably have a bad injector. A miss will cause the vehicle to idle high. The computer is trying to keep the car from dieing out. Hope this helps. No spark do a tune up.

I have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter that won't idle

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

1999 Jeep grand cherokee limited - irregular idle

I don 't know if I can solve it, but I had a very similar problem on a 2002 Grd Cherokee Laredo. It ended up being the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS). Unfortunately the part alone is about $125 and and total installed cost was about $250. It would idle high at first, then gradually work it self down to a normal idle. Once it was warmed up it it would have an up and down RPM during idling, and several times it stalled out at intersections. There was also a lot of transmission clunking going on when you put it in reverse or drive.
Runs like a dream now. Clunking is gone and idle speed is just right.

94 grand cherokee limited- engine dies when returning to idle after rev

Vacuum sense or EGR sensors somehow off calibration, low idle, high friction in engine or bearings.... Seriously, do some searching before you offer a symptom with no evidence to narrow a diagnosis; form better questions.
