i dont think so.. you need a wide drain pan under it and start taking the pan screws out..one at a time..start at a lower corner.. work around the high side and back around..slowly allow the fluid to run as you go..it should drain about 3-4 quarts..
You add fluid to the transmission dipstick tube using a long-neck funnel sold at auto stores. Use DEXTRON III fluid. Don't overfill, have car on level surface, hot, and in park. I hope this helps you. Mark
The fan relays or fan motor itself can be faulty that's why it tends to overheat. You will need to have it replaced if that's the case.
The motor shakes so bad it's because that you have a faulty TPS (throttle position sensor). If the TPS is faulty you'll have erratic idle.
One more reason why the engine shakes when driving is because the transmission fluid is burnt. If the fluid is burnt it tends not to shift so I suggest that you have the fluid replaced.
Hope this information was helpful enough and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
Please have a dealership that handles GM vehicles check to see if your vehicle was involved in what the trade considers a run away transmission condition involving the automatic transmissions parking pall linkage defecting thus allowing the transmission to go into drive while the vehicle is idling in park.

It sounds like the filter is not pushed all the way up or the o-ring is bad or not seated right on the filter. Pull the pan again and check to make sure there is no damage to the seat or seal for the filter.
