What would cause my blinkers to stop working on a 2000 jeep cherokee sport?

Interesting, these are on the same circuit.

1) Click the hazards on and off a few times to exercise the switch.
2) Replace the flasher timer relay.
3) I believe that this system has a little computer center, about the size of a machbox and it is located under the dash. Swap this out with one from a junkyard.

Where is the flasher/indicator located

This device is also called FLASHER; on 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the flasher is located according with the application:
- Hazard flasher: front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in convenience center
- Turn signal: front seating area, driver side, under dash, driver side of steering column, mounted in convenience center

If you are interesting in some specific section additional details, this could find in the Jeep Repair Manual.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Need to replace signal light flasher can not find old one

The turn signal flasher and hazard units are usually located located under the dash either to the left or right of the steering column on most models:
  1. Remove the turn signal flasher unit or hazard unit by pulling them up from the electrical connection.
  2. To install, push the unit(s) into the electrical connector.
Also, I suggest check your repair manual in this link: Jeep ZJ-Secc-8W-Wiring-Diagrams

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Signals and hazard flasher lights not working for 5 days. They would work sometimes before, but now not at all. it is a 2001 jeep grand cherokee

Likely the controller has failed...located on the right of the steering column under the dash. Most larger parts stores have someone that can point it out to you.
