go google and type in ---potassium and fluid retention---
the first site up states ---it may also benefit heart health (9)
potassium appears to help reduce water retention in two ways, by decreasing sodium levels and increasing u*ine production (10)
bananas , avocados, and tomatoes are examples of foods high in potassium
there are numerous sites that deal with water retention and the affects of potassium
as for your husbands condition, it would be far better to discuss the ongoing swollen knee and ankle and to ask if the potassium would help reduce the condition or would other procedures such as icing the knee when it is hot help reduce the swelling
I mention this because following a knee replacement, there is a lot of swelling in the knee and the specialist demanded an ice pack be used to reduce the heat ( the area around the knee gets hot during the healing process) and reduce the swelling

1: yes it is the gear box
2: I am not sure, but I think yes 1998 gearbox will fit into 2000.

Sounds like the MFS ( MultiFunction Switch / turn signal lever ) or the MFS connector at the base of the steering wheel column ( behind the knee panel ) is being overloaded. Are the plow lights hooked to the truck's or is there a relay operating them ?
I am guessing a heated contact type overload. Check the connector for the MFS behind the knee panel to make sure it is not pulled apart. You might want to unplug it, to check the pins for discoloration, if so clean them, and tie the connector together, and pull slack from the truck harness side, and wire tie to a knee panel support.
the buzzing is the relay driven by the daytime running light module.
the module is under the left side of the dash by the fuse box,but above it and more to the middle.right above your left knee about 8 inches or so.
Replace the A/C compressor if the Magnetic clutch is bad. You can try and take it apart to clean but you will never know for sure if it will bereliable. The system will have to be drained to replace. Also if it is not a R134a system you may have to have it converted. Seals and such replaced.
Have the brake checked and the exhuast checked. One of them is moving around a little. Sounds more like the exhuast vibrating and tapping the body of the car.
Generally, vehicles have about 100 km of reserve left. Of course, this depends on how you drive it!
With that said, I have driven over 100 km in my 2004 Sedona, with the light on (and my knees knocking). Was in a place where fuel wasn't readily available and I went for it. I was happy to have the 5-5-5 warranty, as they would have come out with some fuel, ut it was a trying experience!
