Air Conditioner works fine (blows cold) unless it is left out in the sun and it gets hot. If the car is left in the sun it only blows hot. Sometimes after driving, it MIGHT start to blow cold again.

I have a 2007 Dodge Nitro. The air conditioner works perfectly fine (blows cold) as long as the truck is not left outside in the sun. If i park in garage at work, it works fine (blows cold) when I leave in the afternoon. If I were to leave it out in the sun and the truck was hot, it won't (blows hot). Sometimes, it will begin to blow cold again once I am on the highway, but ot all the time. HELP

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.

03 Eclpise GT with air conditioner problems

there is a sun load and ambient temperature sensor that needs to be looked at.
there is a switch system connected so that under full throttle, the a/c is disabled to give more power.there is maybe something wrong with the override.
i would check the a/c relay as in the daytime, when hot it seems to fail.get a can of cold spray, and when the car is hot and not working, spray the relay.the cold spray can be bought at an electronics parts wholesale supplier.the temperature of the spray is -60F and it is great for finding thermal problems.

when an AC gets real hot and there is air in the system you get what is called High Head Pressure and the high pressure switch will not let the clutch engage. Need to have the system evacuated and recharged.
