Airbag and seatbelt pretensioner system self-tests at every switch on and if it detects a fault the light stays on, the fault is recorded and the system is switched off. When the fault is repaired the system usually recognises the fact and the light will go out signalling the system is switched on.

Open the hatch and locate the 2 plastic covers, behind the tail light area on the inside panel. Remove these covers and the nut (8mm) behind them to access the light assembly. Pull lightly on the light assembly to remove, then replace the bulb.
