First off: what country, and what engine?
we are USA forum that car is sold all over planet earth.
and many vary hugely by that factor.
here it is a H27 engine, my guess, just sold my POS.
the car also comes in 4wd and 2wd, the a/t transmission brain
on all Vitara's here, was moved, to where, ?
in 1997.
moved to the confines of the ECU, and then renamed it to PCM.
there is no TCM in the DASH starting in 1997 to now.
unless its a diesel or so other strange enigne there in say Europe.

see, welcome to the www, world wide web
we've not a clue where you are...... (not me)

why not just scan the PCM like we all do and see all those transmission errors, 1997 to now.
on the 1996, you scan it and get P0700
then must use a special tool (or method) to scan the external TCm
there, the full story, on usa spec cars. only this car.

Where is the vacuum modulator on my 1994 suzuki vitara

The vacuum modulator on a 1994 Suzuki Vitara is located on the transmission. It is typically mounted on the side of the transmission case or on a bracket near the transmission. The vacuum modulator is connected to the transmission by a vacuum hose, and it helps to control the shift points of the transmission based on engine load and acceleration. To locate the vacuum modulator on your Suzuki Vitara, you may need to follow the vacuum hose that runs from the engine to the transmission. You can also refer to your vehicle's service manual for more detailed information.

A DIESEL engine , and in USA , are ya> or in Canada?

the shop manual for all complex cars, is a must have.

P2 codes are factory codes, unique to only Suzuki ,
so use their books.
alldata dot com has it.

"Particulate Trap Efficiency Below Threshold Malfunction "
but cleaning it , is not the only way to fix it.
the manual covers this, and how the test works and what can make it fail, simple swaps or cleans dont always work.

Was your issue the range selector switch (a.k.a. range sensor, prindle switch, park/neutral safety switch). Part # 37720-86z01?

It is located on the outside of the transmission on the front side (not between the transmission and the firewall). You can open the hood and put an eye on it.

Be VERY sure to alignment it properly AND to clear the code.
