On the dashboard of my 99 deville it says a/c off low refrigerant. how do I turn the ac back on to recharge ? thank you ...

You will need to recharge it to get it to come back on, it has a pressure switch that will prevent operation until the level is brought back up to normal.

I want to recharge my air conditioning in a 1991 cadillac deville

Here's what you do.

Get an R134a recharge kit or R134a recharge hose (with an optional gauge) that has the adapters to put on to the low side port located near the firewall on the passenger side.

If the system is down already, the computer may have disabled the compressor.

To reenable the compressor, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect.

Charge the system with about 2 or 3 11 oz. or so cans of R134a while the car is running and the temperature is set to the lowest (say 60 deg. F).

If your recharge hose has a gauge on it, the right pressure should be in the green area ranging from 25 psi to 45 psi on the low side when the compressor is running.

How do you recharge the air conditioning system for a 97 cadillac

Just get an R134a recharge kit, and follow the instructions.

The kit contains canisters of oil and R134a and a hose with a gauge on it.

Add about 2 or 3 cans of refrigerant on a system where the refrigerant leaked out.

One may also want to add leak sealer. which comes in a can like the pure 134a.

My 1996 Sedan DeVille works on econ only with no heat or air. Will charging the a/c correct? Has never been charged. Only 36K on car

Alot of the time the cooling system will only work in Economy when your cooling system needs to be recharge. It does this to protect AC pump. Recharge and check for leaks. Should solve your problem.

My ac wont work

Must be Air-Condition System Lines/ Hoses leaking R12 Freon (gas).

MAYBE THE PULLY HUB BEARINGS FAILED OR
DUE TO VERY LOW R12 FREON (GAS ) will not work.
Because there is a switch in the receiver/dryer prevent AC from working when low R12 Freon present, to protect the system & compressor damages.

You must fix the leaks, before recharging it.

They must **** the old (residue) gases from the system & lines / hoses...... & stay in the vacuum pump 30 minutes to proof no more leaks.

Recharge some oil for the old type R12 Freon gas.

Before recharge it to 62-67 psi R12 Freon

See the web site like www.youtube.com/video site to see How they service & repair air-condition system?
Put the question to their search window.

This is the question u should.
