I was going to replace a wheel brake cylinder on my rear axel. I thought I could just pull off the hub to get to the brake assembly but there is a bolted on cap and screwed on plate on the end of the...

Some cars/trucks have the hub mounted with screws/bolts. You will have to remove them to get the hub off. You may need a rubber mallet to beat on the hub a little to get it to come off past the groove the brake pads may have made in the hub. After you get the hub off, take a picture of the brake components so you will know where everything goes once you start removing parts. Once you remove the springs, stuff will shift around and fall out on you so be careful and try to notice where everything goes as it is removed. If you run into problems during reassembly, you can always remove the hub on the other side to get pointers on where everything should go. Good luck.

Hello.... I hear some big noise in the rear axle (differential);so i have to change it,but only found the rear axle of a L300 petrol one, when mine is a diesel. So, are rear axles Mitsubishi L 300 gasoline...

While I am uncertain, sadly no diesel here in the USA (danged EPA) I would expectthe diesel rear axel to have a different ratio from the gasoline, as the diesels run slower. You should be able to manually turn the yoke on the rear-end and count the revolutions for the axel to make one full revolution. With this you will be able to determine the rear-eand gear ratios.

Best of luck!

How to remove rear axle 03 chevy silverado

You will have to remove the rear end plate off of the back of the rear end. Then turn the carrier untill you see a big silver pin that goes through the spider gears. Those will be 4 small gears in the rear end carrier. If you look at the right side of the carrier were the pin goes through it you will see a small bolt head, That bolt goes through the carrier and holds the pin in place. Remove that bolt then reach up in the rear end housing and push the pin towards you untill it comes out. ( DO NOT TURN ANYTHING AFTER YOU REMOVE THE PIN) are the spider gears will fall out.

Now get someone to push the axel in while you are looking at the 4 small gears in the housing, when they push the axel in a C-clip will fall off the end of the axel and into the rear end, You will see it fall out. Then just pull the axel out.

When you put the axel back in, push it all the way in then slide the c-clip over the end of the axel and then pull out on axel and that will hold the clip in place untill you put the big long pin back in the carrier. I hope you understand, just watch what you are doing. GOOD LUCK.
