Vehicle was overheating, so replaced thermostat. when adding coolant and water I noticed a smell of gas, so I cupped my hands around radiator capwith cap removed and it smell like gas. Am I looking at a blown head gasket?
Hi,it most proberly is the head gasket but before you start spending alot of time and money on replaceing the head gasket and maybe having to get the head skimed, have a look on ebay under head gasket repair, there is a item wich says that it fixes head gaskets permently,I would just like to say I dont have anything to do with the people who sell these items I just like to help where I can,I have bought some of this myself but have not used it yet,all the best hope this was some help.
Good chance get a compreesion test done on each cylinder to confirm this is happening

There is a smple test for that rather than pull things apart. Its a tube with bulb on top it has fliud inside it with engine running you squeeze bulb if it changes colour yes issues.Oops sorry that tube goes in top radiater. If postive do compression test on each cylinder. When blown bad when plugs pulled out sometimes water will squirt out.
