I have a 1989 Chevy Suburban that has no power in reverse. Also the speedometer malfunctioned, made a screeching noise. I reduced speed to 10mph, it stopped. Restarted, it quit doing that. Help!

Have you checked your transmission fluid leve? On my 91, whenever the fluid is low, reverse will not engage.

Why did my speedometer stop working?

Could be 3 different things, 1, speedometer head has failed, speed sensor in the tailshaft housing on trans failed or the speedometer buffer failed

I have two vehicles , same issue. A 96 chevy silverado and a 97 suburban. Both vehicles shift and drive normally up to 2nd gear.... When vehicle shifts to third rpms climb and vehicle stops pulling...

I would say its your syncros in the tranny or its a bad sensor somewhere

95 chevy suburban 1500 speedometer & transmission stop working at sane time

Usually a sign the speed sensor in the transmission has failed.
The sensor would need to be tested.

I have a chevy suburban 97 the wiper motor stop working when a hit it start working then stop again

It needs a new contact circuit board, it's held onto the wiper motor assembly by 3 torx type screws. It has the brushes built into it. You can get one from any autoparts store.

Before you go to all the time & trouble, try running a bottle of radiator stop leak through the system & see if that will remedy the problem!!

The speedometer stops working when driving what is the problem all the other gages work just when you drive it will just stop moving.

all chevy made in that year have a speedometer issue i have a 2004 chevy that has the same issue the only way to fix it is to replace the dash insturment panel some of them the speedometer goes and the rest of the gages work fine or try replace the speed sensor located at the front of the transmission on the bottom

Gagues stopped working, even the digital readout, on my 2003 Chevy Suburban The wire harness is connected properly. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

I'm going to assume you checked the fuses, and say that the display panel will have to be replaced. On these the display is all one piece, and when one gage goes out it effects the whole thing. Some of these display panels had in line fuses on the inside circuitry, so you may be able to pull the display and change the fuse. Others were built as a sealed unit and cannot be taken apart.

Usually this problem is solved by opening the driver's door & looking for a broken wire. This wire usually breaks at the flex point of the harness between the door & frame. Carefully slice outer coating revealing hidden wires. The broken one is the culprit. Hope this helps. Good luck!
