You're talking about the back seat. I had a toyota once that you pushed bottom cushion toward back of car, and then lifted up on front of cushion. Probably some trick like that but you might try google for that model of car also.

Where is the fuel level sensor located on a 2005 chevey malibu??

the sensor is on the gas tank-if you remove the rear bench seat, there is an access plate to get to the top of the tank. Located under that is the fuel pump/fuel sensor level sensor. Remove the o-ring and lift the assembly out. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the most difficult) it is a 3 or 4, tops.

Is the fuel pump in the tank on a 1997 Mercury Sable

yes it is, but you can probably access it without dropping the tank if you remove the rear seat bench and pull up the rug to reveal (drum roll, hopefully) an inspection plate that you can remove for easier access to the pump.

Must you drop the gas tank or is there an axcess panel to replace the in tank fuel pump?

no, there is an access panel under the rear seat-remove the bench and the top part of the seat in the rear and pull back the carpet-there is a inspection plate that is screwed into place above the fuel pump.

2004 BMW 530i how to replace fuel filter

The fuel filter is serviced only as part of the left fuel level sensor assembly in the fuel tank

1. Remove rear seat bench

2. Fold carpet forwards

3. Fold back rubber mat

4. Remove the nuts and fold back metal cover

5. Disconnect electrical connector

6. Release and disconnect fuel feed and return lines

CAUTION: The fuel gauge must roughly indicate zero before the left tank opening is opened. Large quantities of fuel may emerge upon opening. If necessary, keep the left tank opening closed and feed an extraction hose through the right service opening to the left tank half and drain the fuel out of the left tank area before proceeding.

7. Release the screw cap

8. Carefully raise fuel level sensor until sensor flange emerges.

CAUTION: Risk of breakage! When raising sensor unit, do not pull excessively on connecting piece of fuel return line.

9. Disconnect line to fuel filter

10. Disconnect suction jet pump from fuel filter (Press catch downwards to detatch suction jet pump)

11. Remove left sensor unit from the tank.

12. Reverse order to install

How to remove fuel pump for 1997 achieva

it is in the fuel tank-remove the rear bench seat cushion, there is a metal plate that covers the fuel pump, this access plate gives you enough room to not have to drop the tank/exhaust or other things to remove the fuel pump. Once you get the cover off, you remove a large ring that holds the pump and sender unit in the tank, and carefully disconnect the fuel lines and harnesses to get the old pump out. Not a hard job, just be aware you are working with an open gas tank-I recommend you try to run it down as low as possilble (if you can, if the car is not running that is)-just be careful, if you do this yourself, you will save a lot of money.

Fuel gauge says full when it isn't

Oldsmobile fuel gauges are notoriously bad (I have an Intrigue and an Aurora) and they get stupid as they get older, not knowing how much gas is in the tank. The sender units are fairly easy to replace (remove the back seat bench, remove the plate covering the fuel pump)-the sender units are not cheap, and you might as well do the fuel pump while you are there-I am going to wait until I need a fuel pump to replace mine, in the mean time I fill my tank no later than 250 miles from the last fill.

Remove the bench bottom of the rear seat and there is a black plate cover on the driver's side. Pry up the cover to gain acess to the fuel pump assembly mounted on top of the fuel tank.
