Locate and remove the outside temperature sensor located in the left side rear view mirror on these North American S70's. When this sensor goes bad, the DIM display shows -34 ----
No. The cause of a dim or dark driver info display is a weak/broken solder connection, usually one or more resistors/rectifiers, on cluster circuit board. An electronics repair service that specializes in cluster repair can usually correct this issue and usually at a reasonable cost compared to replacement cost at you local GM dealership. Good luck. not sure about that one but there is a dimmer wheel by the light switch. move it up and down to dim and brighten the dask lights/cluster. wheel may need replacing. also work the lights on and off switch manually to see if there every thing works smooth or hopes from dim to brite.
Hi Dale. Look under the front bumper either on the left or right trim panel. The trim panels are triangle in shape. An outside temp sensor usually sits in this area. The sensor may be missing. BMW has the sensor, wire, and connector available sperately if they are missing or damaged. It will cause the outside reading to be -40 and can cause the a/c compressor not to operate.
