My 2008 dodge grand caravan does the same thing. I can unlock my doors and the clicking from the dashboard will start. I turn van on . (Engine is running) and nose gets louder and faster. It's almost like the shift lock is spazzing.out. I put.my hand on dash next to gear shifter and I can feel vibration from where noise is coming from. Also when I turn van off and get out if van. The noise of clicking keeps going. But than stops afterwhile..does.any dodge mechanic know what this is.?
No not at all. The problem may be with the anti-theft system. Sometimes in older cars, especially Dodges', the theft system starts to act up even though you put the key in the ignition. You may want to have it checked out at the dealership, shouldn't cost that much just to have it looked at.

there is a relay in the fuse box under the hood that may be defectve.also the ground from the battery to the block may need cleanig, you can confirm that by putting a jumper cable from the battery neg. to the block and see if it will start.to check the relay pull it out and figure out where pin 30 and 87 end up in the relay plug and jump them,it should crank if the relay is shot.
