Sheri, Sounds like distributor was not installed back into engine correctly. Engine will have to be re timed with distributor removed to achieve TDC and aligning rotor with #1 cap tower, Detailed instruction to follow in links below. !st and Last ink may be best for your purpose.

2000 Lincoln Town car wont start and wont jump start either

check/replace the ignition module in the distributor . check for loose wires and faulty connections in the ignition system. Check and replace coil (if not multiple coils). Check rotor button and cap for carbon dust the allows HT shorts . Check/replace the HT leads as pulling them off destroys the carbon track in the lead.

Truck wont start

Check for spark at the distributor if no spark check or replace coil pack. also check to see distributor is turning while engine cranking, if not, possible worn out or broken gear tooth on shaft inside engine.
if distributor turns, check for burnt or worn out points and/or contacts on distributor cap.

2000 blazer wont start

If you don'nt have spark check for power from coil.If theirs no spark coming out of the coil then replace coil.Just pull the coil wire off the distributor side and ground it against metal and have someone else crank it over while you watch for spark.Be careful don't hold wire by hand you will get shocked.

2000 Quest, cranks but wont start. What possible causes are there or what and how do I check next? Plugs are wet w/fuel. It died suddenly while driving, no spuddering.

check your distributor. Your distributor send electricity to your spark plugs, and the car is not going to fire up without a spark from the spark plug, but it will crank. i would bring it to your nearest garage.

Hope this helps

cheers

Stopped while driving replaced fuel filter and pump and crank shaft senor

I suspect you have a bad camshaft sensor. It is part of the distributor. To check, remove distributor cap and rotor (1 screw for rotor) and check for brown dust. If yes, remove slotted wheel and clean optical sensor. If car starts, you need a distributor.

Crank sensor has no affect on system. It is used for back up only.

Can you hear pump run for 5 seconds when you turn key on?
