This is an anti theft concern. For some reason according to your description its trying to relearn values and reset, That will have to be tested to be sure of concern before it strands you...
higher end starters will have the lock/unlock/panic buttons built onto their fob. as for the seats... I dont know why it would interfere with your settings, but who knows... better to ask the seller of the remote start system.
have you tried manually unlocking the hatch to reset the security
system?? My 94 grand cherokee limited did not have a key pad to turn system on/off...i have reset it by turning the key in the rear hatch lock to the left twice...see if this works. - SmokeWrench
