3500. Can I run this motor w/existing wiring or do I need harness and ECU from older van?

I swapped a 8100 multi port direct fire for a 5.7 throttle body w/distributor.

Very important the express van has fly by wire meaning no throttle cable. Can I run a throttle body off that? Where would I get input? The distribitor?

Ask dealer if it has a towing package on it. If it does, you usually just pop fuse in under hood for electric brakes, and harness to adapt into is usually near or at rear bumper. Even if it doesn't have brake wire, you should still be able to install adapter at rear, for lights etc. which is available from dealer or auto supply places, then you may have to run electric brakes separate.

Crank shaft position sensor wiring diagram

1993 ford ranger. no car told at all 2.5Liter sourced from wow, that is a hard nut to crack leaving all that out. my guess 1998 2.5L

the old PCM will not like what you just did.
for sure CMP or CKP sensors.
also if one sensor is hall and old car is not it will and
vice versa. came new with 3 engine and not 2.5 ever.
the 2.3L CKP is 4 wire, (one is 12vdc LT/GN wire) so is Hall sensor
to the ICm
so running the old ICm or new?
the 2.3L runs twin 2coil pack pairs in wasted spark mode
wild guess

  • 2.5 L OHC I4 (gasoline) (1998-2001)

the 1998 engines, uses its own ECU with NO ICM at all.
and has 2 wire (weak signal, 1v , to PCM direct ,no icm uses
there is CMP sensor too that is for injector firing only
the correct swap is all harnesses under hood and PCM swapped
from new engine donor car, and more, even dash to engine harness.
the current new CMP is useless to any 1993 ECu, the 2.5 liter CKP will NEVER fire the OLD ICU< ever
worse yet the reluctor tone wheel can totally different .

85 tpi corvette wiring diagram

Are you trying to use your harness and ecu from the existing v6? Please say no cuz the ecu for a v6 will not work well for the v8. I would suggest getting the ecu harness from the vette you got the motor from. GL.

Swapping from Throttle Body Fuel injection to Carb.

On a 1987 you should still be able to use the factory gauges or lights. Just use the original harness and remove the part that goes to the injectors. I would also suggest running a mechanical fuel pump with the return line to the tank. If you end up going with an electric pump, even a small one will usually put out over 15 PSI, you do not want more that 3-5 at your needle and seat.

What other engine will fit a 97 civic ex?

The 96-98 Civic EX came with an OBD2A D16Y8 engine. That is the only engine that will go in as a direct replacement with your current engine ECU. It's an SOHC VTEC engine that has two extra connections not found on the other 96-98 Civic engines - a VTEC solenoid and a special oil sensor used to determine if VTEC engagement is possible. If you swap in an older Civic engine (92-95 generation) you'll have to convert the car to OBD1 (requires a special adapter hardness) and run the ECU that goes with whatever engine you use. This will break functionality of your OBD2 diagnostics port, and depending on which state you live in will cause you to fail emissions checks. If you install a D16Y8 engine from a 99-00 Civic EX, you will have to swap the intake and exhaust manifolds from your old engine to the new engine, and you will be able to continue to run your existing OBD2A wiring and ECU. The 99-00 Civic EX engines have additional sensors, since those engines are OBD2B. The easiest fix would be to find a SOHC VTEC D16Y8 from a 96-98 Civic EX, as it would be a direct plug and play replacement.
