try lock to lock,
parked, turn steerring to max. right or left
hold there, hear a load squeal, not the normal groan.,
that is belt slip, so set the belt tension right, or new belt time.
or open hood and stand aside. left or right fender
now, per above, parked. and wheels choked,
hear that noise louder? sure.
and can you hear the spot? eg, belt area.
if belt is not it.
then use a stethoscope on case side. P/S
if it makes noise, check fluid level of P/S
on some cars , it needs special fluid, and if some yoyo put in wrong fluid it will scream bloody murdder. the pump will.
and wreck it.
