is it bank 1 or bank 2.use your scanner to know with one exact need replaces they are located on the exhaust bank one is close to the engine bank 2 is alittle furthe back...

Need to know the make, model and engine size to determine part location, but those are always on the intke manifold plenum...Mike

well if your fues is good you need to replace your cooltant temp sensor it tells your cars ecu when to turn on fans locate on engine block easy to change do it when car is cool

Your truck has a computer module but not an ECU. I think there were some chips made for those but not many because they were carb'd or throttle body.

Because the ambient temperature is more likely to be tolerable for the semiconductors in your ECU, these4 are normally installed inside the passenger compartment, often under the dashboard.
It shouldn't be too difficult to locate, look for a box with a large number of wires in the connector(s) attached to it.

do they come on with a/c on? if you dont know they dont run all of the time. they dont come on to well over 200 degrees, need to check fuses

if you look in the air intake boot you should see a two wire sensor stuck in it. this is the iat. That being said i dont recommend the "chip" you are referring too all it does is make computer think it is cold outside all the time so it adds more fuel to engine this is were they claim the extra power. decreased mileage and decreased engine life.a programmer works much better.
