You should be able to see the lever that the cable pulls on to release the e-brake. You may have to remove a trim panel or two to see up in there. Use a screwdriver to pull that lever forward. Keep your face away from the pedal (dont ask how I know this.....).

In the video below you can see the lever that the cable attaches to at around 1:15 into the video. I know its not the same vehicle but the concept is the same.

I have a 2003 chev Tahoe, the emergency brake pedal(disc brakes) went to floor and is stuck there, how do I release it?

Hi. IDK if the pedal is stuck because the E-brake pedal assembly is broken, the E-brake release cable has snapped or because one of the main E-brake cables broke (running underneath to the E-brake shoes). Please take a closer look and let me know. I can say this. If the release cable has snapped. You will need to manually reach and actuate the release cable lever, on the pedal assembly. If one of the larger cables broke. Reach underneath (next to the frame) and pull on the cable (in the direction, towards the rear of the vehicle) while you pull on the E-brake release handle. If those two tips fail a new E-brake pedal assemble may be needed.

Stuck emergency brake pedal release

Sometimes lubing the cable around any braces and connections then letting it soak in can loosen a ceased cable. A product such as WD40 has a good penetration value for such practice and there are others. Soak it with one of these type fluids. If that does not loosen it you\'ll have to replace the cable.

How do you get the emergency brake to release?

Some Pontiac models have a release cable pull located on the drivers side lower dash panel...other models do not have a seperate release pull...the white lettered instructions could be worn off...but you will need to depress the parking pad pedal in order to release...if none of this works, your parking brake cable is stuck, and needs to be lubricated...not a costly thing...have you had the rear brakes serviced? Hope this helps...:)

Something broke when I applied the emergency brake and now the brake is locked in the ON position and stuck in my driveway

Sounds like the release cable broke. Does it have a lever near the driver's side dash to release? Check the bottom of the vehicle for a length of steel cable laying on the ground. To release, try grabbing the cable with a pair of vice grips and pull toward the front of the vehicle, this should engage the release to let the parking brake off.

Emergency brake stuck, pedal release broken

What happens is the brake cables rust inside the cable sheath and then they won't slide easily. There's no good fix for this other than replacement. It's not easy to even find where they are stuck. It might be possible to find the end of the cables at the back wheels and pull the cables back---to release the tension

Emergency break pedal stuck to floor, but break is disengaged

sounds like your brake cable has broken or there is something damaged in the pedal assembly.........try pulling on the release handle and move the e-brake pedal back to its off position by hand at the same time.(you may have to tie it in this position to keep it up)If that doesnt work there is a sensor on the pedal assembly that you should be able to bypass by either disconecting the wire(1 wire system) or connecting the two wires together (2 wire system)Especially if your truck is a standard the e-brake is an important safety feature,so if these steps fix the light and dinging problem you should still take the steps to have it repaired.
hope this helps.........Good Luck!
