SOURCE: 1997 sL1 Saturn manual transmission hard to change gears

The dipstick is behind the battery, below the master brake cylinder and is not the clutch reservoir. It has a red flip top handle instead of a ring like most dipsticks. It was hard for me to find due to engine grease. I had the same problem and was able to see that I was low on fluid (only a little) and adding fluid helped the problem. Questions? kurt1431 at comcast dot net.

SOURCE: 99 Saturn SL1 when stopped and then put in reverse

That I'm not sure about yet. Do me a favor and pull the trany dipstick and put your nose really close to the fluid on the stick and see if it smells burnt.and is the fluid red or brown.

SOURCE: Wiper problems on a saturn SL1

If the driver's side is working OK then most likely your problem lies with the attachment of the passenger side arm to the transmission. The transmission is the linkage between the wiper motor and the wiper arms. Often the female or socket part of the arm has become stripped due to turning the wipers on whilst they are ice/snow stuck to the windshield. Remove the cap at the base of the arm, often this is already gone. Get a socket wrench and remove the nut which is exposed. Now gently pry the entire arm up and away from the splined stub sticking out, maybe some liquid wrench or WD40 could help here. Do NOT pry against the windshield. Take your removed wiper arm to a salvage or junk yard and have them sell you another just like it but making sure the inside of the stub socket is not already stripped smooth too. Put it on in the reverse order, firmly tightening the nut.

SOURCE: gear shift cable wore off the gearshift ball joint

Several folks sell repair kits on ebay for this common problem. If the cable itself is shot, you will have to buy another set of cables. They are much cheaper at advance than at a dealer.

I have a 2003 Honda Civic hybrid. For some reason while driving and the engine temp goes half ways the car seems like it won’t go into gear. For example when I stop at a stop sign the car won’t catch gear...

Your transmission might have a broken ban . This ring or spacer is between every gear when they go the gears don't line up. Check your trans mission fluid and make sure to use the proper fluid for your make. If the transmission is going it usually starts shifting into gear hard.. It will be jerky then eventually have a problem with one gear which will lead to all gears .

Peugot 407 goes into gear but won.t move

need more information. does it feel like it wants to move or it does not want to do anything. is it a standard or automatic. all this is important. and automatic I would say check the trany fluid. if its a clutch. you could have a bad part. if it feels like it wants to go but wont. is the brakes on. does it make any bad noises when you give it gas. like something is grinding or slipping. all this information could help.

Pickup starts great, goes into all gears but won't move. It's like it is still in nutural.

Assuming the pickup is an automatic, check the transmission fluid. The #1 cause for transmission slippage is lack of Automatic Transmission Fluid.

If the pickup is a standard shift, the pin that connects the shift to the transmission has likely broken. You would still be able to shift from the inside but the gears won't engage. A bad clutch is also a possibility but you would have noticed a burning smell prior to the clutch giving out.

My 1998 Honda civic ex won't move but the motor

Have you just replaced the clutch? Taken out the transaxle, and put it back in? Are you sure transmission was in good condition before this? If so, review your procedure carefully to be sure you got it all back right.
Watch the slave cylinder while someone depresses clutch. You should see the little plunger move slightly out and move the clutch lever back. The lever moves the release bearing inside bell housing into contact with the pressure plate. If slave cylinder doesn't move at all, try bleeding again. The plunger has to move when clutch is engaged.
I'm not sure what you mean by "will shift but won't go into gear". You mean it's actually going into a gear position and car won't move? Or it won't go into any gear, period. As if you had no clutch?
