starts shutting down ??? When ? coming to a stop , stop sign - red light ? Could be a number of thing's. Vacuum leaks , engine management sensor , IAC - idle air control valve problem , dirty throttle plate an bore, EGR valve stuck open - dirty pintal etc.... Your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic testing equipment an knowledge. What are the fuel trims doing ? adding or taking away fuel ? are the O2 sensor's switching normally .

Idle to low ,could have a vacuum hose fallen off ,if it has a carby ,a blocked idle jet possible.

Hello... so I've had my battery changed and new camshaft sensor actuator and 2004 chevy trailblazer is shutting off and reading cylinder 1 misfire

engine misfires can be from ---low fuel pressure--- faulty injectors---faulty injector wires---HT leads touching each other--Leads ---plugs--- air /fuel mixture wrong from leaks in manifold and dash controls hoses--wiring to the cam/crank sensors loose /dirty connections.

I have a 95 cadllic deville and never had problem till today. It starts perfect then when I put it in drive it will putt a few times then shut off and takes about 5 min to start again or it will let me...

Sounds like a fuel or air problem...Maybe clogged fuel filter or ..Air filter.

2001 Nissan Altima shuts off in hot weather

it is the cam position sensor...the telltale sign of the failure is that it happens when the vehicle is warm and has been driven for a while. Sensor is about 40 bucks at the auto parts store, make sure the replacement sensor is metal, not plastic.
The main symptoms of this sensor failing are rough starts, rough idling and not starting at all especially when warm.

Justs shut down at stop sign also in morning actully all day. starts up then will shut down for no reason some days no problem at all.all so traveling down freeway it starts chugging like its running out...

you need to have your throttle position sensor checked. tps its starts goi9n bad and get erratic readings to the computer. i just experienced some what the same problem, come to stop sign, let off gas pedal it dies. i set up the idle a lil bit and solved the prob and then had tps checked. replaced it and solved the prob. not 100% that that is the prob but that is what i experienced.

Sounds like a Vacumm leak. Check all Vacc lines.

Vehicle shuts off sometimes when stopping

Set your idle speed to mfg recomindation if that doesnt help check the dash pot that is what keeps the engine from stalling at sudden speed reduction
