Why rear liftglass wont lock

ok sometime you close the back and for some reason the latch dont hit the striker properly so it lock and the only way to open the lock is with the key and sometime you have to put a screwdriver between the latch so it can open,if that dont work or not the problem the leaver inside that connect the handle may come loose at times the clip that is plastic does snap

My 1990 toyota wont shut off when the key is off

Then the main relay is shorted together possible,recheck the ignition electrical by disconnecting it first and see if you get that click when you put the battery together,if you dont the ignition electrical is the problem if you still do the circuit opening relay along with the main is the problem

Liftgate wont open, have to use the key, but if I press the key to close the rear lift gate it will close it.

can you hear the latch release when you try to open? if no clicking noise is heard then most likely a bad latch assembly. also check the rear door control module to see if smells burnt, if it does it won't send open signal. the module is located behind the plastic shroud on the left of the rear hatch.

Cant figure out how to open rear trunk, the remote seems to be unlocking it. it wont open. is there a safety feature or is it broken ????

if you can hear it clicking inside, it more than likely came out. the linkage should be held in place with a plastci clip, if that broke you could be stuck taking it to mercedes. did you try the key. if it works with the key, then its the actuator itself.

I have a 2006 chevy impala ss i took it to the dealership because my trunk wont open they said it was the actuator which got replaced and still wont open what to do now

Does it open with the key? Is it binding or sticking in some way? Did the dealer actually check it out or did just tell that was the probably the problem. Do you hear the actuator clicking like it's trying to open? If you don't hear the actuator you may want to check the fuse, the owners manual will tell you which fuse it is. Also, I'm pretty sure the trunk won't open from the drivers seat unless the vehicle is in park,

Trunk lock wont open

if you do hear the click noise then that means your trunk is now unlocked. Try giving it as much force as you can while someone else is hitting the trunk release, your hinges for your trunk are probably hung up on something.

Can you open it with key ? If you can, my guess is that the linkages are rusted & corroded, and you need to remove the panel to properly lubricate & free all those up. Sometimes you'll hear the actuator click, but it's not unlocking anything because the linkages are seized. had to do mine for same reason.
