The car worked fine as of yesterday and showed no sign of problem. This morning, when I ran the engine, it started as normal, but within a few minutes of driving, the car began to shake at low speeds and nearly stalled. The Check Engine light began to blink shortly after. At idle or high speeds the car seems to run fine.
You most likely have a cylinder mis-fire. Usually a bad spark plug or ignition coil/ignition wire. Check the codes to determine what cylinder is causing the misfire and repair a necessary
The 06's have plugs and coils, I just replaced the plugs only two weeks ago.
A friend said it could be the crank sensor, the internet seems to think it could be the ignition control module. Would either of those make sense?
No, not for a flashing engine light and rough run. You most likely have a bad spark plug/ ignition coil ( if equipped with coil over plug ) or defective plug wire. These are the most common problems for this issue. In some cases an injector/wiring will be the source of the problem but is rare. Start with spark plug/s.
