SOURCE: PROCEURE FOR REPLACING BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ON 86

Buy a new one at a parts store, install it. Generally you will find that is is bolted to the brake pedal arm, just high enough that you cannot accidentally hit it with your foot. Cost less than 20 bucks and takes less than 20 minutes.

Hi there:
"arrow pointing up" on the DRB-II code reader as DTC 1018; a 1018 code should mean no serial data on the serial data circuit.

Check harnesses connectiosn or some possible bad ECM (engine control module).

Hope this helps.

Not getting fire to plug wires. I have replaced coil pack, module, dist pickup, and cap. I have tested and have fire to dist but nothing coming out. This is an 86 2.8 comanche 4x4 w/ 4 barrel Holley carb...

You have spark on the coil wire but not coming from the cap. You replaced the cap right. Did you replace the rotor too. Sometimes the rotor burn in the center and the spark goes right thru it in to the distributor shaft.

What is the part # for the fuse of the 86 comanche brake lights, I do not see any fuse below under steering wheel, is it by chance located elsewhere

Its #5 fuse 15 amp for the brake lights. Should be just left the steering wheel on this year. Right to the left of the clutch pedal or the brake pedal.
