Where is the fuse for a 2006 hyandi eltrana for back window defrost

I would read 'Back Up' as reversing lights and camera if equipped.

check the fuses the fuse for this can be found in your owners manual. if the fuse is good and the lite for the rear defrost lites up the rear heater strips on your rear window may be bad the only repair for that would be having the rear window replaced

Test for power and ground at the clips. If you get that, then you have a crack in one of the grid lines.

it works off heater fuse and has relay which you found and is good .the problem is a breake in the heating elements in the window. they can be fixed w/out replacing window . check each element in window w/ohm meter .put aluminum foil around the pos. lead on meter to check the wire.

It's not a Fuse you need, it's a 30 Amp Breaker type Relay. More or less it looks like a fuse where it plugs in, but looking at the fuse box, it's an aluminum looking thing the same length as your fuse and about 3/16" thick. It's main purpose is should the 30 Amps be exceeded, it will go open-circuit, until it cools down, then will work fine. On the back of your fuse door, look for your power windows "fuse/relay" and see if someone inadvertently placed a regular green 30 Amp fuse in it's place. This relay may also control things such as power seats, rear window defrosters and things of this order. If all else fails, just call a Dealerships Parts Department and they'll be glad to tell you whether you take a standard 30 Amp relay and the exact location of where it lives. (smile)

I'm fortunate to work at an auto body shop. There is a technician here that loves these problems. We also have a wealth of source material at our disposal, which supplied no clues as to the problem. So needless to say this one stumped even him. While I was researching this rear window defroster issue on the internet I came upon a page that had the end fix for my car. Under the passenger side dash - mounted near the front passenger door jamb there is a fuse box with a wiring harness. Open the wiring harness to observe if there is a burn mark from a poorly connected wire (see pictures) if this is the case... (this repair is not recommended but it works) clip and seperate the offending wires from the harness and wire them together. then clean the wire harness from left over wires to prevent further short circuuits when the harness is reconnected. test the rear window defroster if it works you're good to go. Please consider placing in line a fuse. I don't believe you need one but the tech here put one in just in case. He used a 30 amp Sorry no photos-files are too big but trust me if there is an issue at this spot you'll know it. it is very obvious

The only thing I can offer without more information is to check the fuse to the rear defrost. If your rear window has little wires connecting to the defrost wires on the window, make sure they are connected. I wish I could help you more. I hope this is helpful. Please leave a good rating.

Same problem, there is a small metal stopper that disables the window movement and depending upon the position of the window, will also disable the defroster and wiper. There is a service bulliten that describes a complete replacement of the window control (back door power window inoperable, toyota technical service bulletin EL 007-06). You only need to remove the stopper. follow the sections for that stopper removal. Took about half an hour. The new replacement motor and controller do not use the stopper.
