it comes down to what you want. if you can get the b16 get thats a good start for someone wanting to get into honda and fixing them up. all that other work b20 block b16 head ls b18b trany you could save for later when you've learned more, b16 is a good motor and fun, in the end do what you want. you can get a p28 ecu thats what i got pushing my gsr b18c1, you may want to flash it not everyone has money for a hondata, best thing i ever did with building cars start small and work your way up. hope that helps
SOURCE: will a cylinder head from a 1996 honda civc 1.5l
The 1996 civic has a 1.6L b-16 engine. The only difference between the v-tec and non v-tec engine is the dual overhead cam i believe. The 93 civic also should have a b-16 engine in it. The cylinder head should work.......
SOURCE: swapped tranny, just need help with matching up wiring
It won't work. The shifting of the 4L60E is done by the computer in the 93. You might check with Summit or Jegs, I think they make a system to make it work.
SOURCE: Engine swap. color codes are different need wiring diagram
I've done several of these swaps that sound good at the time but end up being a Huge problem.I would start with the correct harness for the engine you've put in.It must include the under hood harness and what ever harness connects to it thru the firewall to the computer. You'll also need everything connected to the transmission to the computer including any thing connected with the brake and accelerator pedals.Next get the wiring diagrams from Jeep or buy the Chilton or Haynes manual, they have the diagrams included.Get the harnesses connected to the engine, trans and computer, then work backward towards hooking up everything else.I really feel your pain,I've put 20 year newer engines in older cars,V-8's where 6's were,an olds V-8 where a in-line six was(ford),Late model v-8 in a 59' Chevy. All these were simple compared to what your going thru. Please contact me if I can be of any help?
