What is the C0265 error code

The ABS EBCM anti-lock brake module is failing causing problems with the ABS pump running constantly, also will drain your battery.
  1. Remove the ABS fuse to prevent ABS motor burn out.
  2. You can still drive your vehicle with the module removed.
  3. We recommend covering the exposed surface of the hydraulic control unit with aluminum foil to keep out water and dirt.
Common Failures:
  • ABS Pump Always Running
  • Codes: C0265, C0267, C0268
  • Pump Motor Circuit trouble code
  • Power Relay trouble code
  • Valve Relay Trouble code
  • Dump Valves (solenoids) trouble codes
  • No Communication
  • Intermediate power loss

Why won't abs light go off error code says pump

When a pump code comes on for the abs it is usually associated with the module connected to the pump. Most of the time either the relay controlling power to the pump loses it's continuity on the board or the connector builds corrosion and resistance in the terminals. Most of the time depending on the make and model an the exact code it can be remedied by purchasing a new or used abs module/ pump, repairing the old module/ pump, or just replacing with a new module/ abs pump(most expensive option). It is very common for abs relay/ pump codes to appear and end up relating to the power or ground circuit going to open( breaking continuity it frying a connection form resistance)

What would cause my 1990 f250 to lose spark, power to fuel pumps and also power to fuel tank selector switch

One thing that would affect spark and fuel pump power is the EEC relay.
I would start with checking that.
The spout connector should be in the harness near the ignition module. Its a connector with a plug you remove to set base timing.

ABS light on. Abs pump continues to run after engine shutoff. Where is the 60 amp fuse, so I can remove and continue to use my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. Also, can I get the abs module fixed instead of having to...

The fuse should be in the under hood fuse panel. The other thing you can do is disconnect the power wire to the ebcm. The ebcm is located on the passengers side below the drivers door area.Just unplug the 2 wire connector. It is the red and a black wire.About 10 gauge. The top part of this unit is the electronic brake control module and it is the cause of the motor running continuously. The problem is that water gets in to this and shorts out the unit. There are only 4 torx screws that hold this on but they are not easy to get at and sometimes they strip.I believe it is a number 20 torx bit.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Mechanic say that ABS pump is bad and that only the dealer can repair it. The pump wont shut down and drained the battery overnight

wow.. i think..your mechanic is from some old school before they used igintion switches.. when you turn you key off.. it should stop all current going to coming from your battery. try crawling under you truck and spray an rust cleaner like wd 40 on the inside of you wheels .. use more than you think you should as it sounds like you have a rusted wheel sensor on one or more of you wheels..

ABS brake module sounds like a motor running and won't stop unless battery is disconnected. what is fix?

I would pull the fuse for the ABS hydraulic pump and then put it back in and see what happens. Don't ever recall a pump running. Dealer may need to hook up scan tool for diagnostic fault codes, DTCs.

Principles of Operation
The ABS control module receives wheel speed readings from both front wheel speed sensors and the rear differential speed sensor, and processes this information to determine if an ABS event is necessary. The wheel speed sensor electrically senses each tooth of the ABS sensor indicators as it passes through the wheel speed sensor's magnetic field.
The ABS control module continuously monitors and compares the rotational speed of each wheel speed sensor indicator and, when it detects an impending wheel lock, modulates brake pressure to the appropriate brake caliper(s). This is accomplished by triggering the hydraulic control unit (HCU) to open and close the appropriate solenoid valves. Once the affected wheel returns to normal speed, the ABS control module returns the solenoid valves to their normal position, and normal (base) braking resumes.
The ABS control module is self-monitoring. When the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, the ABS control module will do a preliminary electrical check, and at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph), the pump motor is turned on for approximately one-half second. Any malfunction of the ABS system will cause the ABS to shut off; normal power assisted braking, however, remains.
Inspection and Verification — Scan Tool Communications Check
  1. Verify the customer concern by carrying out the Drive Cycle Test.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

  • Hydraulic control unit (2C219)

Go to Module Master. I had the same problem sent mine in and came back. took less then 5 minutes to R/R. www.modulemaster.com

Prior to 2004, Durangos with 4 wheel ABS use the Kelsey Hayes Dodge controller attached to the hydraulic unit. Durangos with just rear wheel ABS use the Kelsey Hayes 125 located separately from the hydraulic unit.
2004 and later Durangos use the Bosch 5.4 controller.

Kelsey Hayes Dodge 1) Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2) Push the harness connector locks to release the locks, then remove the connectors from the CAB.
3) Disconnect the pump motor connector.
4) Remove screws attaching CAB to the HCU.
5) Remove the CAB.

Kelsey Hayes 125 1) Push the CAB harness connector lock to release the lock and remove the connector from the controller.
2) Remove the RWAL valve harness connector from the controller.
3) Remove the controller mounting screws and remove the controller from the mounting bracket.

Bosch 5.4 1) Pull out the side locking tab on the Bosch controller as shown.
2) Remove the connector.
3) Remove the 6 screws and separate the controller from the hydraulic unit.
