This morning it started fine but will not come out of gear and my airbag light is on. Someone said it was the fuse but I am not sure which fuse. Any ideas ?

What fuse would this be to keep it from going into gear ?

Won't come out of what gear ? Is it stuck in park ? Did the air bag light just come on with this gear issue or has it been on ? I don't think it's a fuse . You may have a problem with the shift lock control system if you can't move the gear selector out of park into a gear , the brake light switch could be bad , do your brake lights light ? I'm assuming your vehicle has a automatic transmission ?
Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control System
The automatic transmission shift lock control system is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the engine is running. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of the PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
?€¢
The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid

?€¢
The park lock solenoid

?€¢
The stop lamp switch

With the ignition in the ON position, voltage is supplied to the stop lamp switch. Voltage flows through the normally closed contacts of the switch to the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. The automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid is permanently grounded. This energizes the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid causing the transmission shift lever to be physically locked in the PARK position. When the brake pedal is pressed the contacts in the stop lamp switch open, de-energizing the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. This allows the shift lever to be move out of the PARK position.
Park Lock Solenoid
The park lock solenoid is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the key is in the OFF position. The key must be in the RUN position to release the park lock solenoid.
The system consists of the park lock solenoid.
With the ignition in the ON position, voltage is supplied to the park lock solenoid. The park lock solenoid energizes through a permanent ground unlocking the shift lever. With the ignition in the OFF or ACCY position the park lock solenoid de-energizes and locks the shift lever in the park position.
The first thing is have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .
Symptoms - Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control
Important: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.

  1. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true:
  2. ?€¢
    There are no DTCs set.

    ?€¢
The control modules can communicate via the serial data link.

  3. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Description and Operation .

Not sure if it is alternator but started out this morning and my airbag light came on out of nowhere and someone told me it could be my alternator going out

not the case. if the air bag light came on that means your computer is storing a fault code for the safety restraint system. you need to have a scanner hooked up and the codes extracted. this can be done by most auto repair shops. if it was the alternator a battery light would have lit up on the instrument cluster. hope this was helpful.

BMW 318i SE Airbag light

something in the airbag system is at fault. it could be the airbag(s) itself or any of the sensors that detect a crash to deploy the airbag. i would really take it into BMW and have it checked & repaired. the airbag(s) will not deploy with this light on so your safety is at risk if you are ever in an accident..

SRS Air Bag System Warning Light

I really have to advise you to visit a dealer, whenever your airbag light comes on, it could indicate a computer problem, and can possibly be dangerous. Sometimes an airbag can deploy for no good reason, and i'm sure you know how frightening that could be. You should atleast get someone to hook it up to a diagnostic machine. Thank you, and sorry I couldn't tell you more.

You have a blown brake lamp fuse.
Start the vehicle, depress the brake, and have someone observe to see if you have brake lights. No brake lights = no removal from park W/O pushing the over-ride switch.
FYI: Brake lamp fuse failures are most always created by a faulty trailer wire harness.

Vauxhall vivaro wont start cold

Sounds like a faulty cold start assistor. On top of the engine you will find an aluminium housing with four things that look like glow plugs screwed into it. These 'glow plugs' are only available complete with the housing fron Vauxhall. Approx £70 +
Airbag light is probably a fault with the seatbelt pretensioner.
Check the wiring under the seats for damage or perhaps the plugs have pulled apart.
