Are you referring to the coil packs for the ignition? They are usually either mounted individually to each spark plug or at the opposite end of the spark plug wires as a larger single or twin block. A simple way to check is to look at where the spark plug wires are fitted to the engine. If each plug has a basic wire on the spark plug that simply pulls off the single coil pack will be at the other end of the spark plug wires.
If the spark plug has a black plastic block on it that is bolted down that is your coil pack.
Not sure but I think the Escape V6 uses separate coil packs mounted on each spark plug and bolted down.

If the coil pack has a four wire connector, one wire is primary voltage, the other three wires are ground, one ground for each coil, one coil fires two spark plugs. If problem with coil or ground, you would lose spark for two spark plugs. Did you visually check for spark, everywhere? What about the spark plug wire or the spark plug, itself?

The PCM CREATES spark. on all cars since about 1991.
the only changes are where they hid the IGNITOR.
or how may spark coils you have.
my guess, is your enigne is 3.8L just like my 08
where is the coil pack, well see those spark plug wires.
the go directly to the top mounted coil pack. see that?

the PCM monitors the rail coil , the 3.8 has a 3 COIL pack.
and each coil runs 2 cylinders. like this.
so what is the first thing to do here.
easy , put in new spark plugs.
try doing the tuneups. in the glove box guide.
page 433 , at 102,000 miles. spark plugs and cables.
mine has only 60,000 miles, and they both were bad.
spark plugs and HV, wires so I upgraded to NGK mag wires.
and new NGK plugs.
if it still fails, then try a new coil pack.

On the magnavox coil pack the opposite plug on the coil pack fires at the same time. If it is dead only on one side it may be the coil pack {six terminals on one brick looking unit.}

sounds like it may be your coil pack.if you can pull of the plug wire and lay it next to the coil pack plug,and dont get a spark,it is the coil pack...

If you have no spark on the coil pack for these cylinders, try scanning the car to see if you get codes for a camshaft positioning sensor or crankshaft positioning sensor.
