How do i replace the transmission fluid on 97 mitsubishi mirage?

By memory I think in 2000 models MMC has changed the engine from E-W direction. Concerning your reverse gear can you tell whenit stopped working? Is it only the lever that is not going to the far right. Is 5th gear getting in easily? How is the trvel of the gear lever in the neutral channel?

Go to any auto parts store auto zone O'Rielys Auto parts whatever tell them the kind of car and the type of engion wheather automatic or standard trans they will tell you the right kind of transmission fluid to use

the filter will be inside the sump ,its a gauze filter on the bottom of the pick up pipe i think for this model

the filter should be inside the transmission pan. you will need to drop the pan carefully because it is full of fluid. once that is done the filter should be visable.
