I'm not really familiar with JEEP mechanics but if you've replaced your water pump and it's still overheating with full water/coolant level, you should check the thermostat; when it fails, it's a common cause or overheating in all kind of cars

I'm attaching some links to Youtube tutorial about replacing thermostat in a Jeep but you can expand your Google search using terms

Have the cooling system pressure tested. If it holds pressure, that's a good thing. If it doesn't hold pressure, you may have a leaking head gasket. What may be happening is the crack in the head gasket could be blowing hot air into the cooling system causing it to overheat.

SOURCE: 2002 jeep liberty has very

sounds like a head gasket problem. A minor leak there will pump compression into coolant and force it out of heater core. Any unusual steaming from tail pipe? Also: if radiator was flushed "in car" sometimes debris does not come out. Try flushing with it out of the vehicle. Jeep radiators are notoriously small for their application if not at at least 90% they will not work correctly.I'd look at the hg first though otherwise, your symptoms seem to be contradictory.

SOURCE: how to change out thermostat on 2002 jeep liberty?

Hi:
You don't need to remove the water pump. The thermostat is located under a housing, at the engine end of the upper radiator hose.

All you need to do is drain your radiator, remove the upper radiator hose, and remove the thermostat housing. Clean it up well, and replace all gaskets before reinstalling!

SOURCE: 2006 jeep liberty cigarette lighter problem

its probably not the lighter itself, it's probably lost power. check the fuse for the cig lighter and see if blown. if it is, replace. if it blows immediately you have a dead short. if not, pay attention to when it stops working. could be a problem with whatever you are plugging in, or something else on the circuit

Water level perhaps. When you hit the accelerator the water volume increases. Check your water level and make sure that your thermostat is opening and closing properly. Water level I'm thinking

Car overheated and won't start

Have you checked compression to see if you damaged the head gasket ? ?
I would start there and then check for spark at the plugs and fuel pressure. Also pull a few spark plugs and inspect them for damage.

My 1997 ford tauras was running fine until the water pump went bad I changed the water pump and now car won't start it turns but won't start what could b the problem

Check for spark. If there is none take a peak at your work. The crank sensor is in that area and it is possible you damaged it when you replaced the water pump. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Having over heating problems with my 2000 taurus it does it most with def. or air cond. on full blast did find small leak at water pump where it bolts to block. replaced both cooling fansand, the thermostat...

No!!!!...Yes!!!
No, the sending unit is working right.
Ideas? Yes, I think the problem is the water pump. Don't drive it overheated till you get a new water pump or have it inspected. You say it's a small leak where it bolts to block, but maybe it's the "weep hole" on bottom of pump leaking, meaning the internal seals on the pump have failed. If so, it won't be a small leak, it will leak all the time engine is running. A lot may be swept away by air, or by evaporating. Check it out. That's a likely cause of overheating.

Temp light blinking water was boiling put water in it ran it a few miles water boils out starts overheating

It might be your thermostat, if it is faulty it won't regulate coolant supply.
Might be your water pump, check it and see if there is water dripping out of the bottom. If so then the pump is faulty and needs replacing.
It is possible that your thermo fans are not activating.

Over heats in stop and go traffic

There are a couple of things you can check.
  1. Check to see if your cooling fans are coming on when the car is starting to overheat. If the fans do not come on, first check to see if the fuse is bad. If the fuse is bad, replace it. If the fuse is good, your coolant temperature sensor is bad and you should replace that. The coolant temperature sensor threads into the back of the radiator and is very easy to replace.
  2. If your fans are working fine, you should have your water pump checked. If your water pump has seized, it won't be circulating your coolant through your engine resulting in an overheating condition.
Good Luck!
