first off learn how AC works, for sure this, set of hard logic, in the system for self preservation.
and if you had used the OBD2 SCAN TOOl first after fuses checked
you'd already know this.
high/low, R134 pressure switch tripped saving the full destruction of the compressor. a volt meter finds this truth also.
the controller AC also cuts AC if engine overheats or the sensor lies.
the control AC cuts AC at wide open throttle.WOT
AC cuts AC if engine IN gross DTC errors, or in limp-home mode to protect it and the driver, so more power is on tap from engine.
evap core sensor , sees freeze up and icing, Ice can do damage so it cut the compressor dead(means clutch off line)

The dash controller AC is failing, but manual AC? not really if it's lamp glows for AC , the main controller is BCM on most cars.
the dash HVAC blower must not be dead or AC stay off line
sound like you have a radiator fan problem. do this, turn your car on, with your ac on and open your hood. look at your radiator fan and see if its going full blast. if not take a wrench or anything solid and tap the fan motor. if it moves faster after you tap it ,replace the motor
There is no external turn signal flasher on a 2001 Town Car. The flasher unit is an internal part of the Lighting Control Module (LCM) and can not be serviced seperately. The LCM is located under the dash to the right of the steering column. It may also be referred to as the MECM (Mutli-Function Electroninc Control Module).
Look for the ac compressor,and locate the large ac line coming off the ac compressor.Follow it until you come to the ac charge port.this is where you charge it up with a charge hose that you have.Put the can on the can tap,and the quick connect to the ac port on the ac.Turn the t handle on the can tap clockwise until all the way down.hold the can upside down.start engine and turn the ac on high blower.and recirculate.shake can lightly,until the can empties.Turn the t handle counter clock wise,almost all the way out,and remove the can .Repeat to add another can,Don`t put too much freon in,and add ac oil also.If it lost freon,it lost oil,failing to do this could cause the ac compressor to lock up.One 4 oz can will be fine.look for the large ac line to get cold,and the accumulator to get real cold,then stop with the freon.
u need a 134a charge hose ,on ur car look for the ac compressor and find the large ac line/hose and follow it around to the small ac service port,this is the low side port connect to it and tap the can at the othe end and start car turn the ac on high an d high blower motor,and recurculation if it has it and max air start charging
Check the AC relay at the engine compartment. Remove it and clean out the connections. Put it back in and try to start the AC.Gently tap the relay with the backend of a screwdriver or similar object. Sometimes relays get stuck either in the on position or off. especially if they are a few years old.If it starts, replace the old one with a new relay.
