Question moved to Honda CRV.
The whole idea of using a Bypass Pulley is that it mimics the A/C compressor. You use the same belt. You can use the one that came off it, although you may as well put a new one on at the same time.
There is a fuse panel under the hood,,on the right side.. behind the battery.. under the black lid.. be careful ..Honda CRV is NOTORIOUS for bad A/C SYSTEMS!!!
If you need work,, get SEVERAL OPINIONS!!
Honda use generic ac compressors with a Honda badge on it. Go to an accredited ac specialist shop and they will have a catalogue of compressors that will replace the current unit. Probably will be 1/2 price of a Honda spare part.
find a real ASE mechanic, noise is not something web bunnies can hear. or find....
and finding it can be extremely dangerous ( i use a sonic ear 4 channel stethoscope) (can drive with head phones and listen to 4 microphones (clamps)
sad how you mech. gave up.; ; there is no need to . not ever.
did he hear it, then give up?
or did the not drive car, or what?
if they can't hear it, they can not fix it. so......
muffler explosion
#1 reason , EFI running rich as a pig (CEL glowing and warning)
and exhaust cracks, (adds air )
air + fuel = muffler explosion and can blow the whole thing to H3LL
pipes blast off. car.
The compressor is supposed to cycle on and off. The idle problem may not be the compressor but the solenoid that controls the idle when the compressor is engaged. A bad clutch would present in different ways, i.e. metallic scraping noise. I doubt at this point you are damaging the system by running the a/c.
