The fan is connected to the ac circuit to move air through the condensor in front of the radiator when the ac is turned on . This is to stop high head pressures in the ac and prevent damage to the compressor. There may be a problem with a coolant sensor that is turning the fan on otherwise so run fault codes and see if anything comes up
There is an electric fan that should come on with the AC and run whenever the AC is on,if it doesn't come on it will heat up very quickly. Sounds like a problem with that radiator mounted fan. The fan is supposed to come on when the engine gets hot enough also. If so, the AC should be ok at hiway speeds.But you need the fan to work.
Turn off ur car before u work on replacing any fuses. Find the main fuse box by looking under the hood in the engine compartment.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Car Key Programmer
you should be able to kick the fan on by turning on the AC, this way it bypasses the cts in coolant system. If they don't come on when you turn the AC on, I'd say it's the fan motors.

depends on model as not all vehicles have this fan turn on straight away but some have sensors which turn it on via pressure switch ,So if it works then leave alone but if your stationary with AC on then watch what happens and see if comes on after a short while if the compressor clicks out and the fan doesnt come on then you have a problem which will need looking at and maybe a new sensor
One cooling fan will most likely not come on,unless needed,like maybe when the ac is turned on,and the engine is real warm,so get it in that condition,to make sure it is not actualy coming on.
If the motor does not sense it is getting too hot, the fans will not come on. When it reaches a certain temp, they will come on. If you are having problems with over heating, and the fans are not coming on, I would suspect the fan temp sensor, or the PCM.
Call up the dealer and ask what commands the fans to come on once the car reaches operating temp, on alot of imports, there is a fan control box of some sort that actually sends the sig to the fans to come on.
If it's the temp sensor and the computer tells the fans to come on you could be looking at a faulty computer.
This would deffinetly be worth taking to the dealer to diagnose so that you don't keep wasting your time and money chasing a ghost.
