I have a 2010 Equinox that only blows air out of the defrost vents. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Isn't air supposed to blow out of the defrost vents ? Otherwise, how is it supposed to defrost a window if it isn't turned on defrost. Does it blow air out when not on defrost ?

It is called a Blend Door Actuator... located under steering wheel.. have to take the under dash out an its right up in there. I have the same problem. There are 1 or 2 other actuators as well.. they are on the passenger side under dash. Both of my actuators were bad and my blower motor as well. But the actuator is the reason my blower motor went bad. I pit a new blower motor in but it only worked a couple times before it started going in an out due to my driver side actuator not being fixed yet. I see this post is old but I just wanted to answer since I came across the question and you haven't received a proper answer yet. Hope you figured it out!

    It's not a blend door actuator , it's called a mode door actuator .

Mode Actuators - Defrost, Panel and Floor
The mode actuators are 5-wire bi-directional electric motors that incorporate a feedback potentiometer. Low reference, 5-volt reference, position signal, and 2 control circuits enable the actuators to operate. The control circuits use either a 0 or 12-volt value to coordinate the actuator movement. When the actuator is at rest, both control circuits have a value of 0 volts. In order to move the actuator, the HVAC control module grounds one of the control circuits while providing the other with 12 volts. The HVAC control module reverses the polarity of the control circuits to move the actuator in the opposite direction. When the actuator shaft rotates, the potentiometer's adjustable contact changes the door position signal between 0-5 volts.

2010 equinox when heat is on doesn’t go to the face only comes out from defrost vents and floor vent what could be wrong

I'd check the mode door actuator. Take a look at this post to understand how blend and mode doors work.

Does anyone know why I'm getting heat through front dash vents then when I switch to defrost it blows really cold air 2006 equinox

In the defrost position, most cars will automatically turn on the a/c so that the windscreen will be cleared.

Finally got heat working in 2006 equinox but now when I turn it on defrost blows ice cold air why is this?

This should happen for defog, as AC removes moisture from the air. You may have a vacuum leak or bad blend air door actuator causing wrong function when you select defrost.

I have a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ and my question involves the heating/ AC unit. The air flow seems to be very strong through the Defroster but for the dash vents and the floor it seems to be much s

Defrost has been stronger on all types. Just the way plenums are made. Clear that wind shield first. As long as you have plenty of heat to keep the cabin area warm to hot, it's OK. I wouldn't woory about it.

Defrost doesn't work but blows out the front vents\

The problem may lie in your vent actuator, which is responsible for controlling the flappers and directing airflow from the fan. You will find this o the passenger side, beneath the dashboard. There are two types of mechanisms - electric - and vacuum. If your car features an electric actuator, a simple fuse change can fix the problem. And if you have the vacuum type, you have to find if there are any leaks and fix them.
