Check and see if you have brake lights. If not replace the brake switch down by the brake pedal arm. If you do have lights, then you need to check wires first, then replace the shifter. Most solenoids in the shifter can't be replaced with out replace the whole shifter.

Got the tranny option called AUTOSTICK,????????
or CVT trans
or AWD tranny.???? we cant guess what you have.
nor can i scan the PCM to see those DTCs set......???

some of the newer jeeps have 3 switches inside the brake switch
and fact is , one of 3 can fail.
and brakes work but the park lockout side fails.
we use a thing called a voltmeter to find this.
at the switch.
some years, earlier than 2010
there is a park lockout by pass. lever that is hidden.
there. near shifter. its covered in the operators guide.
if missing in the guide that means the new fed law banned it.
it did.
to diagnose park lock out you need the schematic.
if not ,you will chase the tail. like sick puppy...
it also depend s on what trans is there. which option.
some newer models use the TCM to control park lock out.
and not scanning the PCM you will fail to see what side is bad.
say the TRS is sending bad data to the PCM(TCM)

see?
in the old day its just a brake switch and shifter solenoid.
and on some a key switch cable. there to block starting...
not now.
2007 is a big change year at jeeps, all jeeps.

ok , ill look yours up, now, and not guess..... so common here.
07 mk.
autostick has a special shift lever and autostick

the cluster brain, sends the unlock command to
the assem. shift lever .
that means the CLuster sees , the status off all key facts
brakes not on. gears selected. etc.

gear shifter will not move from park - 25740062-zy5i2xuw3mfjw4tca3plar50-1-0.jpg the MTIP
module totally integrated power (brain)
monitors the brake line.
it will report it failing. if you just scan it. why no scan the car.
why guess , when the PCM/TCM will report all these simple faults.
why work blind?

ok i looked at the brake switch , its just one switch
pin 2 output sends the brake status to the MTIP brain
if pin 2 is ok, 12vdc brake on its ok
if pin2 is 0v the fuse 3 is blown or the switch is in fact bad.
easy huh ?but not if pin2 is 12vd brakes on. (good)
12vdc to MTIP for brakes is OK then...
next is does the MTIP send the unlock signal? to the shifter brain.
now that takes skill to find or just scan it and see if there
are MTIP errors. or shift interlock errors or TRS errors.
as they say, "Its not your fathers oldsmobile."
1 switch, one wire, one solenoid, nah that be too, simple. (lol)

be aware that this newer car will not shift from park with other errors besides brakes.
    like TRS errors
    or TCM errors
or other serious errors coming from the shifter, TRS switch in trans or if the TCM
can not determine the trans is in park or neutral, or is seeing the wrong gears selected.

what that means is , not scanning the PCM
you will in most cases, guess wrong.
    see why?
    it's more complex today. (rules)
they also change the rules for how to tow car with no key or engine that dont run.
its in the FSM these.... facts... the book.

when we say TCM that means a seperate TCM box or the one that hides inside the PCM.
fact is, some cars have 4 transmissions (yours)options and some have TCM separate... even today.
the TCM can just be a smarter PCM.
back in 1996, when processors got faster.
they added the TCM to most PCM'S and saved a bundle. (but there still is one there.. hidden)
this fact makes diagnosis more easy.
as does looking up what you have (option)
in the FSM book, it covers all 4 options.
    Tranny.

2000 ford mercury 3.0, shifter wont move. had a fender bender, put it into park and it wouldn't come back out.

For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

For more troubleshooting, I suggest you to get the Following help link checked, its complete step by step procedure to inspect gear shift issues: -----

When car is in any gear. park, reverse nuetral and drive the gear shifter on dash shows the gear always in PARK

there is a small cable/string attached to the steering column part of the shifter. when you move the shifter it pulls the cable/string, which moves the lever in the cluster on the PRNDL display. basically look carefully at where the shifter base is and you should find the cable/string thing, and reattach it.

Gear locks when i park on even a slight incline

ALWAYS engage the Parking Brake BEFORE putting car into "Park". When you want to get out of "Park", put your foot on the brake pedal, move gear shifter into desired gear, THEN take down Parking Brake. If you get stuck (gear shifter doesn't move), then try the "rocking" method (recruit 1 or 2 folks to push your car from behind while you try to move gear shifter into desired gear). Good luck!

Will not shift out of park

can you move the shifter and it wont go into gear or will the shifter not move at all?? if shifter wont move, there is an electrical solinoid that will not allow the shifter to release when the car is off, that could be faulty, i think it also has a safety mechanism that wont allow it to shift if your foot is not on the brake? if the shifter moves through prn321 but the trans wont come out of park, you have broken the shifter cableand or damaged the shifter mechanism in the trans. hope i have been of some assistance
