SOURCE: mazda b2300 electric fuel pump no working
pumps are rare to fail on these. the quick easy thing to check is the inertia switch. if in a wreck or jarred hard, this switch shuts down the fuel pump to stop a fire and must be manually reset. it is located behind the lower kick panel on the passenger side of cab interior. its a little black switch with a red button facing upward. if tripped the button is up. push back down and it will re-engauge. try to start may have to crank alittle to prime. this procedure is in your owners manual too if need be.

You need a special tool called a fuel line disconnect tool. You should be able to get one for your specific vehicle at an auto parts store. However that is not the correct or safest way to check for a bad fuel pump.Check out this link for more info.

check the feul injector on that cylinder. use a stethoscope to listen to it. injector should make a clicking noise as it operates. if it doesnt click, check the wiring at the terminal. if the wiring is ok then apply a 9 volt battery to the prongs on the injector to check if it is working or not. if the injector for that cylinder is not operating properly then the cylinder will missfire. if the injector and its wiring is good, check the valve clearance with a feeler gauge and adjust if necessary. if the valves are good then test the compression of the cylinder.

There is a fuel pump "roll over" valve in the floorboard on the passenger side. It stops the fuel pump from running incase you roll the vehicle to prevent a fire. Check that the switch didn't trip from someone possibly kicking it or something. Then check any fuses or relays (swap relays if you have a spare or switch with the same on in a different slot). If everything checks out ok, then you probably need a fuel pump
