I need picture showing me where my transmission filter is for 2000 mazda 626 4cyl

Question edited to what I think you thought you were saying plus 'mazada' to Mazda.

No one has tried it with a Mazda, but a Ford Ranger 3.0 transmission will fit.

Some are supposedly lifelong use! The normal way is to drain the ATF and measure it. You repace with the same amount. Overfilling causes problems.

bad news you'll need to have your tranny replace or overhauled

Check the ATF level on level ground.

Change transmission filter and fluid if it is over 2 years old.

Transmission speed sensor loss of signal will not allow torque converter lock up (no overdrive). Transmission filter should be serviced at 80,000 miles. Perform an OBDII scan for stored fault history. The scan should show any issues with trans. sensors or solenoids that can be addressed during trans. service. Let the ODBII scan be your guide to any repairs to avoid buying parts you don't need.

Replacing starter is not a difficult job.The vehicle needs to be lifted up on jack stands.The starter needs to be accessed from under the car. --------- You need to remove the air filter housing and intake, and the battery and tray if you want to make it easy on yourself. Remove those first, then remove the top starter bolt before you go under the car.

Accessing the top starter bolt,sometimes takes time. The top bolt comes from the transmission side on top.

The transmission range sensor aka neutral safety switch is located underneath the air filter on top of the transaxle and very easy to access. Replace this part (around $50) and it will solve your problem.
What happens is this, when your tranny warms up, it disperses heat to the sensor switch and if its faulty or worn out, will send faulty relays to the transmissiom computer module (TCM) and makes the transmission shift irratically (OD to 3rd and back while driving at freeway speeds). You tranny is not overheating like most people believe, its the switch. Mechanics are telling alot of people that their tranny needs replaced. Watch Out For These People!! They only want your money!!

The automatic transmission filter is located inside the transmission pan.
