You also should check the cabling, and the returns. The minus is supposed to go to the chassis of the car. When the connection is bad, the lights won't work. Use a multi meter to find out if the bulbs get any voltage. If not check the cabling, if yes, replace the bulb.

SOURCE: 2005 Corolla LE brake lights not working

to ss1957, i have exactly the same problem as yours. At first i thought the bulbs of both side are okay because the filaments (there's two on each) are intact. It turned out that they're not. The brake lights came back as soon as I replaced the bulbs.

theres usually a pressure switch behind the brake pedal, sometimes the plastic hex nut rattles loose and you have to retighten it.

all brake lights should be linked to same fuse, so fuse should be OK. check for blown globes.

So i have a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, all the lights work normally except the brake lights.

Your not going to like hearing this one ! The brake lamp switch is an input to the TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE ,then the module turns on the brake lights ! It's possabal there is a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored , this would not have anything to do with the check engine light .

08 Chrysler Sebring Transmission

I assume that you have to press the brake pedal in order to shift from park (ie:safety switch) you might first check to see if you have brake lights as they should be on the same circut and operated by the same switch. If the lights dont work, check the fuses could be a simple fix. Hope this helps
