SOURCE: My steering column is make loud squeking noises.
The rubber "boot" at the firewall is chafing on the steering shaft. Spray shaft with silicone lube, then turn the steering wheel back & forth to work lube in. May require occasional re application.

chances are that noise is the ball joints telling you they are dry and have no grease and they should be replaces fairly soon

There are several possibilities that could be causing your problem.
Assuming the power steering fluid is full, bring the car to any brake shop or repair shop that does front end alignments to diagnose the problem further. I hope you find this points you in the right direction. Thank you for using Fixya!
