Temperature gauge on a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan keeps fluctuating while driving

bad news if coolant not see on ground, garage floor
that means the engine is eating that for breakfast.

be more clear on coolant loss, now
level in rad next level drops each AM dead cold/?
that is serious.if yes, side tank okay.
1: not on ground
2: not in passenger foot well
3: not in oil pan, see chocolate milk look.
run enigine hot parked and with 15psi cap pressure now.... see
any leakes of AF seen now outside engine is it.

do engine compression test
spark tips nasty even same color as AF (green./pink, yellow )?
see oil or carbon dust in rad neck next cold AM test?
see steam at tail pipe engine fully hot? must not be so.
the only key fact is loss. word.
side tank (recovery) missing or broken tube or parts there)

Have you checked the electric fan/fans on the radiator? It may also pay to check the sender sensor which starts and stops the fan/fans.This may sound a bit silly but is the rad.cap correct pressure setting and is the pipe to the expansion tank clear?...Maybe of some help.

I would suspect the thermostat first.

If all voltages checked ok,then most probably its faulty instrument cluster board on which gauges are connected.Yes if cluster circuit board looks ok,then also it can be faulty.Somewhere there is minute short or burn on board then such prolem arises.
Also check the fuse box.One under hood and other under dash.Inspect each and every fuse and see if all are fine or not.

have your alternator checked

well its in your manual and all it is is a security system light, your definitely fine to drive it. its been on in mine since we hit around 40k

I'm thinking the coolnat level is low, and this might be caused by a bad head gasket - At least $800 to fix - sorry.
