Why can't I manually advance the motor on my 2000 Honda Accord EX V6?

unplug small ignition wire from starter and the end it plugs into on the starter jump it to the hot / positive post on the starter coming from the battery it should crank over parts stores also carry a tool with alligator clips and push button to do this

personally for the price of plugs i do this every 50,000km. at the same time i change the air filter and check the pcv valve.

stand infront of your car, open hood and look at transmission assembly, Vss is neardown the throttle body, and for sure , it is two wired sensor, yellow and orange,,(yellow wire connected to ignition on)

call autozone or orielleys or advance and tell them that code nd they will tell you what that code means, if u got the code from a code reader that u plug into the car thru and obd 2 reader then they can tell u

IT sounds like your reverse gear is going out, or that you need to have filter replaced my best advise is have your transmission checked out by a transmission shop as soon as possible.

it could be the coil or distrubutor cap

Before messing with the timing, get your alternator checked out. Supplying the ECU in a V6 Accord (98-02) can cause some of the same problems you've described above. I had some of the same stuff happen in my 2000 EX V6 and it turned out to be an alt/batt combination. I replaced both and had none of the problems (transmission or otherwise) that I experienced.
