The TCC is located in the Transmission. You can gain access to the TCC or the Lock-Up Solenoid by removing the Transmission Pan and you will see 4 Solenoids there along with the 1/2, 2/3 and 3/4 Solenoids.

I am sorry to bum you guys out, but this usually means the piston in the torque converter is bad. The converter needs to be replaced along with a transmission flush.

SOURCE: Did a Service Engine Soon

The solenoids are inside the trans and it has to be disassembled to gain access. The trick is there are several solenoids that control each gear change function in the trans so roughly 4-6 depending on the tranny. You will need to know which one is bad otherwise your just changing random parts hoping to get the correct one. A trans shop is the best option. I would not attempt this if your not 100% sure of what you are doing, you may find a Chiltons/Haynes manual with trans overhaul info but it wont tell you which one is bad. Hope it helps.

Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop .
The automatic transmission shift lock control system is a safety device that prevents an inadvertent shift out of PARK when the engine is running. The driver must press the brake pedal before moving the shift lever out of the PARK position. The system consists of the following components:
• The automatic transmission shift lock solenoid (serviced as the automatic transmission shift lock actuator), as well as the body control module (BCM) and the engine control module (ECM). The shift lock solenoid is located within the floor shift control assembly with vehicles equipped with floor shift.
• The BCM controls the voltage supply circuit of the shift lock control solenoid. The following conditions must be met before the BCM will supply voltage to the shift lock control solenoid.
The BCM controls the voltage to the shift lock control solenoid through the shift lock control solenoid controlled voltage circuit. The following conditions must be met before the BCM will supply voltage to the shift lock solenoid:

2001 satrun sl2 keep blowinf transmission filter i reaplaced the pressure silenode already and it blew adian

Are you installing the correct filter? The filter for this transmission may look like an ordinary oil filter but I assure you it is not. You must install the correct TRANSMISSION filter.

If the concern is still present, you may have a faulty transmission pressure control solenoid, or sticking pressure regulator valve in the valve body.

I have a 2001 Saturn SL2 and need to know thelocation of the tcc solenoid. Can U help?

TCC solenoid is located in the valve body on top of the transmission. Once you have the valve body top removed, the TCC solenoid is the third one from the left.

Hope this helps.
