do the easiest cause first... did you recently get gasoline and didn't put the fuel cap back on correctly?

CLEAR the trouble code and re-seat the gas cap properly & then see if the check engine lights up with the same code... then go from there

p0440 is an evaporitive emission system system large leak detected generally on an 02 gm vehicle it is very common that the vent solenoid located by the fuel tank if you replace it the light will take a few days to clear its self. the vehicle runs tests on all sensors and systems and the test has to pass or fail a number of times before the pcm will turn on or turn off a check engine light.

PO 1665 code 1998 Buick Rivera, PO 440 code

EVAP is for Evaporative emissions control system, so no this is not EGR, that is Exhaust Gas Recirculation system, as far as the P1665 goes it is related to the other trouble code P0440, u will need to replace the EVAP system Purge flow control solenoid. This should correct both problems after u replace the part disconnect the battery for 5 min's to reset system.

Diaganosed the car with P0741 and P0440 trouble codes

The P0741 code is a torque converter clutch stuck in the off position and the po 440 code is an evaportative emission control circuit malfunction. The po440 code could be the gas cap not seated properly. Niether has anything to do with the radiator.
