Code po496 how can i fix it

P0455- Evap Emission Ctrl Sys Gross Leak Detected
P0496 Evaporative Emission Sys High Purge Flow
This is the 2 codes you requested and they say you have a leak in the emission sys.

code p0496 refers to evaporative emission system--high purge flow===causes--wiring--EVAP valve--mechanical fault
check that the cap is on tight
change the purge valve.

The code insinuates that your purge valve has problems and probably needs to be replaced. Rather difficult to explain the repair but I did manage to find what you need to do on video.

Its a problem with the evap system, make sure your gas cap is tight, also check purge and vent solenoids, purge solenoid maybe leaking

If you take your car to a auto parts store tell them you have the check engine light and the should check it for free and tell you what's wrong and how to fix it.

2007 cobalt and am getting P0496 code as well. would love to know what is cause!
