2005-2009 Toyota Tacoma Overhead Console Fuse test * does your cruise control work? * do you brake lights work? * does your dome light work? The 10 amp IGI #2 fuse controls several other components including the dome light, cruise control, and brake lights. If these are working but the compass is dim, intermittent, or dead then the control module has gone bad. This is a very common problem with the 05-09 Tacoma. The console is very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!
If the overhead lights are working but the console is not then it is a
bad console. I offer a repair service in which I replace all of the
faulty electronic components, and it includes a lifetime warranty. I
have a bunch of tech info there; how to remove the console, etc. Check
it out and drop me a note if you have any questions, thanks!

This is a very common problem with many of the mid 2000 Ford truck and SUV overhead consoles. The console is very prone to internal failure. If the dome lights work but the compass unit does not then it is a faulty computer unit. I believe that the mirrors and entry issues are not related to the overhead console. Compass/temp failure is a very common problem with many of the mid 2000 Ford truck and SUV overhead consoles. I am looking into the fuse that controls this. Typically it controls
several other components so if other components (for instance the
radio, dome lights, gauge, etc) do not work then it is a fuse issue.
More often than not, it is the computer module itself.

Do the map lights in the overhead console / Illuminated vanity lights work?
This is the same fuse, Cab fuse panel fuse #23 ( hot in run position ).
If the map lights & vanity mirrors on the visors work correctly, it is the solid state module in the overhead console that is the problem ( have seen this, more common on SuperDuty line ).\
Yes. Look in the Fuse Panel inside the Truck. Use a Good Maglight or LED Flashlight and Hold it Behind the Fuses to see the Blown Ones. It is usually in an AUX Outlet. Also check thr Fuse Relay Box under the Hood for a Blown Fuse using the Same Method. See if there is a Relay for this also. If so, Replace it. Let me know if you need any more Help!
